Dispatcher / Yard Coordinator Assistant 

We are an established company operating in the Guelph area. Our office needs a Dispatcher / Yard Coordinator Assistant working with a team to ensure customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have Heavy Haul Dispatch experience and Rental Administration. Experience with Point of Rental dispatch software will be an asset and high level of computer proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) along with being well-organized with a high level of written and phone skills.

In a team environment reporting to Dispatcher aid in Receiving Equipment Orders
  • Organize customer requests as well as scheduling and dispatching trucks, Communications with drivers via direct communication, computer, text, phone. (inside)
Complete Inventory control of equipment
  • Daily outdoor physical counts to control inventory and Pre / Post -Rental reports
Assist in Dispatching
  • Ensure all legal requirements are met including permitting and routing of oversize loads throughout Ontario. Ensure policies, procedures, regulations are followed.
  • Dispatch Float Drivers
  • Assist People Dispatcher from time to time.
Assist in Sales / Customer Relations
  • Assist in problem solving, liaising with customers & stakeholders to ensure strong beneficial relationships
  • Ensuring all aspects of the rental process are implemented and completed in the shortest possible turn-around time
  • Work to ensure best practice for contract execution Review all departmental invoices for accuracy and initiate purchase requisition
  • Other Duties as assigned


  • Ability to climb on Equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Dispatch experience in a Heavy Haul trucking industry (city and highway)
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Outlook, Office, Excel)
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of Ontario
  • Analytical, logical, and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
  • High Level of conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage a high level of change Superior memory
