POSITION: CARDIO RESPIRATORY CLERK
UNIT: ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY
STATUS: FULL TIME
SALARY: $23.00 - $25.00
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Cardio-Respiratory Clinic provides all non-invasive diagnostic services, including two (2) state of the art Echocardiography units, Holter Monitoring, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), ECGs, Stress Testing and Arterial Doppler Services.
The Cardio-Respiratory Clerk provides the cardio-respiratory clerical and reception support in a highly fast-paced ever-changing environment. This includes registering and scheduling a high volume of patients for this area and assisting in the smooth functioning of the department. In addition, this position will provide coverage to Ambulatory Care when needed.
HOURS:
Be able to work all shifts applicable to the department. Typically coverage is required Monday through Friday, though some flexibility is required to meet operational needs, and can include weekends.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Medical Office Administration/Health Care Office Administration certificate required;
- At least two (2) years’ experience within the last three (3) years of healthcare clerical experience required with a strong background/knowledge of Ecg, Holter, Stress tests, Nuclear medicine Stress Test, Echo and PFT, and Blood pressure monitors.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of medical terminology required;
- Knowledge of Cerner registration and booking tools using the Cardio scheduling templates, and completing booking through Cerner Cardio Bookshelf, monitoring on-line worklists and incomplete lists.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills with advanced keyboarding skills (Electronic Patient Record,MUSE,Cerner,Powerchart,Novari,Polar Imaging, Icentia, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet/Intranet Usage) is required;
- Willingness to participate in the planning and implementation of identified opportunities for changes related to current patient registration practices;
- Highly organized with demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent telephone etiquette;
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision utilizing effective organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to working within an inter-professional team;
- General clerical experience including reception, filing, and basic computer literacy required;
- Ability to write legibly;
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis as per the STEGH Attendance at Work Policy;
- Demonstrated acceptable performance record
