The Store Manager supports their team to achieve store goals by providing excellent customer service, merchandising, and sales leadership. This key position leads by example and is a role model for sales staff on building effective customer relationships.

Key roles and duties:

  • Provide sales leadership and maximize personal and store sales by ensuring staff employ excellent customer service, creative sales skills, and merchandising techniques.
  • Reinforce customer service by coaching staff on their successes and challenges.
  • Maintain visual standards, including merchandise presentation, signage, lighting, etc
  • Monitor inventory levels, lead inventory takes, and communicate discrepancies to Inventory Control and Management.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and maintain an environment where all staff are treated fairly and with dignity and respect.
  • Effectively perform operational functions such as opening and closing store, register and back office.
  • Keep current on all merchandise and product knowledge in all product categories throughout the store and effectively communicate this knowledge to staff
  • Be aware of and understand all current advertising, promotions and merchandise status
  • Attend, participate, and where appropriate lead store held charity, social, or product knowledge events
  • Effectively communicate customer feedback to management concerning merchandising, policies, problems or suggestions
  • Provide excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm towards the job and company to both fellow employees and external customers in all forms of communication.

Store Manager Requirements

  • 5 years of previous retail experience or management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • 2+ years of home related design or visual merchandising experience
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor and able to lift up to 50lbs
