Job Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician. Reporting to the Supervisor – Field Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for repairing or refurbishing our products on the field.

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute field service repair/refurbishment for our products

  • Receive and handle warranty calls and service request such as repairs, inspection and product checkout

  • Coordinate, manage work and work schedule with the customer

  • Arrange for product returns needing repair or refurbishment and coordinate parts and shipment return

  • Perform job hazard assessment and conduct site safety tailboard for every assigned task

  • Maintain good relationship with customers either external or internal

  • Perform product demonstration and presentation either external or internal

  • Provide and communicate project status requirements and updates to stakeholders

  • Occasionally manage and supervise team of contractor and personnel for field service task

Keep clear and concise field service reports and feedback problems

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Systems Design, Automation, Industrial Engineering Technology or other related fields

  • 3+ years’ of field experience with engineering and construction projects or in the utility industry

  • Knowledge of products in one or more of the following fields: Power Quality, Electric Distribution Automation and HV/MV Power System and Equipment

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret project specification, engineering drawing, single-line diagram and technical procedures

  • G Drivers’ license with a clear driving record

  • Technician/Technologist, Electrical Trade Certification and PMP certification are assets

The successful candidate must be able to multi-task and open to work in any of the fields and product lines mentioned above. They must also have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and have strong organization, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills. In addition, they must be a team player with the ability to work effectively in a team based project environment.

Work Environment

Field Service Technicians are required to work independently for long hours at construction or maintenance job sites. They may also be required to work on weekends. Percentage of travel for work is 50% and the successful candidate must be open to driving for long distances and travelling to remote areas in Canada or the USA.
