Agricultural Equipment Technician (Road Tech)

We are the Maritimes' only John Deere Dealership with 15 locations to serve you.

We are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Road Technician - Agricultural Equipment at our Summerside, PE location.

Purpose:

Independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. Work would be performed approximately 80% on the road and 20% in the shop.

 Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
• Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety, and a cooperative and fun work environment

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs required
• High school diploma or equipment
• Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship required.
• John Deere training required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Forklift license preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
