Purpose of Classification:  

This position is responsible for administering and supporting CCWA’s physical security systems including access control and video surveillance.  

Essential Functions:  

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. 

Serves as the technical lead and system owner for the physical security programs and all associated solutions.  Answers calls, chats and email requests for support; determines nature of problems, troubleshoots issues and provides solutions for assigned functional area. 

Proactively monitors physical security systems for service outages. 

Installs, configures, supports and maintains desktop computers, servers, software and hardware necessary to support the physical security system 

Coordinates with contractors and vendors on projects, implementations, and trouble calls. 

Acts as internal project manager for all contract work.  Prepares proposals/recommendations to stakeholders for any new updates/upgrades to include feature releases, security risks and end user impact. 

Accurately documents all work related activities.  Creates detailed documentation of related IT procedures to assist with first level troubleshooting and/or triage efforts. 

Researches current and emerging technology as it relates to physical security and suggests changes, upgrades and improvements as necessary. Actively protects technology assets and infrastructure from internal and eternal threats by maintaining knowledge of firewalls and other security solutions. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

High School diplomas plus Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Systems Administration, Network Communications, or a related field preferred, supplemented by 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in network or system administration, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.  

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Possession and maintenance of one or more of the following certifications or licensures is preferred: Network+, Security+, or any Cisco Certified Network Associate certifications. 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must have experience with deploying and managing access control systems, IP video systems, IP cameras, programming access control panels; installing hardware; testing and commissioning systems; troubleshooting door hardware and performing installations. Must be able to problem-solve communicate effectively, and make decisions.

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. 

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals.  Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. 

Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
