JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to administer and support CCWA’s physical security systems including access control and video surveillance.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Serves as the technical lead and system owner for the physical security programs and all associated solutions; answers calls, chats, and email requests for support; and determines nature of problems, troubleshoots issues, and provides solutions for assigned functional area.
• Proactively monitors physical security systems for service outages.
• Installs, configures, supports, and maintains desktop computers, servers, software, and hardware necessary to support the physical security system.
• Monitors security software and hardware including security cameras, key fobs, control boards, and servers.
• Develops strategies for securing building access and camera coverage areas.
• Coordinates with contractors and vendors on projects, implementations, and trouble calls.
• Acts as internal project manager for contract work; prepares proposals and recommendations to stakeholders for any new updates/upgrades including feature releases, security risks, and end user impact.
• Accurately documents all work-related activities; creates detailed documentation of related IT procedures to assist with first level troubleshooting and/or triage efforts.
• Researches current and emerging technology as it relates to physical security; suggests changes, upgrades, and improvements as necessary; actively protects technology assets and infrastructure from internal and external threats by maintaining knowledge of firewalls and other security solutions. • Deploys and manages access control systems, IP video systems, and IP cameras; programs access control panels; installs hardware; tests and commissions systems; and troubleshoots door hardware.
• Assists in investigations.
• Performs other assigned duties.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Systems Administration, Network Communications, or a related field; plus one (1) year of experience in network and system administration, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Preferred Certifications & Licensures: Network+, Server +, and A+ certifications.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as moderate work involving lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. A job in this category will require a good deal of walking or standing or involve sitting some of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of moderate work, one must have the ability to do substantially all these activities.
• Tasks may involve some pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight; tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
