Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to receive, store, and issue parts, supplies and materials for the CCWA.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Pulls materials and supplies for all departments: tracks the movement of raw materials; issues materials for projects; ensures materials are charged to correct work orders and/or cost centers; utilizes mobile and inventory tracking software; troubleshoots software and hardware problems as needed.
Receives shipped materials: inspects and verifies quantity and quality of received orders; signs for deliveries; unloads trucks; labels products; stores items in proper location; reconciles orders with purchase orders in computer systems; replenishes stock and rotates inventory; and assists CCWA personnel with shipping needs.
Maintains accuracy of inventory: conducts physical counts; enters data into computer systems; and assists with reconciling missing materials.
Cleans, organizes and maintains the warehouse: organizes and shelves materials; sweeps the warehouse, etc.
Performs related duties: assists customers with loading hydrant meters; assists with identifying appropriate meters to distribute to customers; maintains related work orders in computer systems; makes deliveries, etc.
Supports garage with inventory when necessary.
Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures.
Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments: operates and maintains trucks, forklift, cut-off saws, hand-held scanning equipment, ladder, and other tools and equipment.
Communicates with supervisor, other CCWA employees, vendors, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Additional Functions:
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by two years of experience in inventory control and warehouse operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Forklift certification required within 6 months of hire.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to determine, calculate, tabulate, or summarize data/information, following a prescribed plan requiring the exercise of some judgment. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to exchange information for the purpose of clarifying details within well-established policies, procedures and standards.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. May include counting, recording of counts, and basic measuring.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.
ADA Compliance:
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of heavy weight (50-100 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dust, temperature and noise extremes, heights, machinery, or rude/irate customers.
