Description
The Surgical Services Aide Will be working for the Surgical Services Department. This position will play a vital role in supporting the staff in the department. In this multifaceted role, the Aide is responsible for carrying out tasks to ensure the staff have the necessary equipment and/or supplies available to them to carry out their duties.
The Surgical Services is comprised of three (3) OR theatres, six (6) stretcher bays in PACU (Post Anesthetic Care Unit), five (5) chair Day Surgery Unit. LWDH partners with surgeons/visiting Specialists who offer a broad range of surgical services (General Surgery/Endoscopy, Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology, Cataracts, Dental and Maxillofacial).

Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Current certificate in BLS (within 12 months) an asset
- Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload with good time management skills
- Demonstrate the ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team and seek assistance as necessary
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with the team
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own actions
- Confirm ability to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing and/or walking most of the shift
- Reliable attendance record
