ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for an experienced Service Technician with strong millwright-level mechanical ability to join our field team.

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who is immediately competent in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues in industrial environments. You must be confident troubleshooting rotating equipment, identifying root causes of failure, and executing repairs safely and professionally on site.

You will be the face of APR in the field. Your technical ability, confidence, and professionalism will directly influence customer trust and future work opportunities.

 

In this role you will:

  • Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of pumps and rotating equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble equipment in the field
  • Perform alignment, coupling installation, and basic vibration troubleshooting
  • Communicate findings clearly to customers and recommend repair solutions
  • Work independently or as part of a small crew
  • Prepare clear field service reports with accurate documentation and photos
  • Identify additional repair opportunities and support sales growth through strong customer interactions
  • Maintain high safety standards and compliance on all job sites

Your ability to solve problems and build confidence with customers will directly drive repeat business and new opportunities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Strong mechanical background (Millwright certification or equivalent experience preferred)
  • Proven troubleshooting ability in industrial mechanical environments
  • Experience working on rotating equipment
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions on site
  • Strong communication skills and professional presence with customers
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Ontario
  • Commitment to safety and safe work practices

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with pump repair and rebuild
  • Familiarity with centrifugal, vertical turbine, split case, or submersible pumps
  • Experience with alignment tools and vibration analysis
  • Experience working in municipal or industrial facilities
