Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OHS/IPC RN to join our Occupational Health and Wellness team. This combination role supports both Occupational Health & Safety and Infection Prevention & Control initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in employee immunizations, new hire onboarding clinics, infection control surveillance, and assisting with  managing modified work programs for staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS):

  • Conduct and manage employee immunization programs, including record-keeping and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate and run new hire health clinics, including TB testing, immunization review, and health assessments.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of modified work programs in collaboration with HR and department managers.
  • Support case management and return-to-work planning for staff following illness or injury.

 

Infection Prevention & Control (IPC):

  • Conduct routine infection control surveillance and assist in outbreak investigations.
  • Participate in education and training of staff on infection prevention protocols.
  • Collaborate in the development and review of IPC policies, procedures, and audit tools.
  • Act as a resource to staff and management on IPC best practices and standards.

Qualifications

  • Regulated Health Professional (e.g., RN) in good standing with College of Nurses (CNO)
  • Certification or training in Infection Prevention & Control an asset
  • Experience in Occupational Health or Employee Health preferred
  • Knowledge of immunization schedules, communicable disease reporting, and infection control standards
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
  • Reliable attendance record

 

  • Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience running staff immunization programs
  • Familiarity with WSIB, modified work/accommodation processes
  • Experience in conducting infection control audits or surveillance
  • Experience with new hire onboarding from a health perspective
