POSITION: Manager, Outpatient Mental Health
Alliance-Wide
Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Outpatient Mental Health provides a coordinated, comprehensive clinical and crisis component of the district’s mental health programs. The Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the work assigned to program staff. The Manager ensures the functions of the programs are aligned with corporate priorities, legislative requirements and best evidence for the provision of mental health and addictions services in Huron and Perth counties Health Best Practices requirements.
REPORTS TO: Director, Patient Care
DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in a health-related field preferred
- Member of a mental health-related regulated profession (i.e. Social Work, OT, Nursing)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum ten years’ experience in a psychiatric setting (inpatient/community)
- Progressive supervisory and management experience
- Experience in a unionized hospital environment an asset
ABILITIES:
- Extensive knowledge of community mental health and addictions services and treatment supports
- Demonstrated leadership in the integration of clinical practice guidelines and evidence
informed practice and safe, quality patient care
- Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in an inter-professional collaborative environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in coaching, mentoring, team development, conflict resolution, consultation and interpersonal relationships
- Effective presentation skills and knowledge to develop and teach educational programs
- Computer literate
- Highly developed skills associated with initiative-taking and self-direction
- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development
- Experience in a LEAN environment with associated LEAN healthcare education
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning and administrative abilities
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and complete projects as identified
- Able to effectively and efficiently provide business-oriented planning and forecasting
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop employees during times of change
- Ability to research and implement leading practice, evidence-informed decision-making and quality based programming in order to meet and exceed industry benchmarks and performance metrics
